A short glance into daily life of the people of San Salvador - a beautiful and dangerous city. As a journalist I have been to El Salvador to document the battle of gangs in 2016. Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) and Barrio 18 are the most well known groups of gangs and yes it is a very serious situation there. But I saw daily life in between these rivalries, of course met friendly people in town and visited great places at the seaside as well as countryside for a short period. For me as a foreigner it was dangerous staying at one place longer than an hour, so it was all in a rush, regrettably. As you will see in the film we get right into a prisoner transport from one jail to another. The overcrowded jails are a huge problem in San Salvador. Police sometimes put rival gangs together in one part of prison to force conflicts, which often ends in multiple deaths...
